Welcome to the 2008 CraftStylish Craftathlon! A crafting competition where you share with us (and the world) the project that you found the most challenging (the one that almost did you in, the never again, the 'what was I thinking?') The project that you didn't give up on. The project that once you broke through, became your greatest crafting achievement!

Through August 24th, as everyone on the planet watches the stunning physical derring-dos of elite-class atheletes going for the gold, CraftStylish invites the DIY community to share their crafting victories with the world. The CraftStylish Craftathlon will highlight the triumphs of crafting obstacles overcome, celebrate the comebacks of agonizing crafting defeats, and award the three crafting testimonials that make us stand up and cheer with a CraftStylish, ticker-tape, homepage feature.

Here's how you can compete:

Tell us your story. (Imagine Bob Costas and Matt Lauer coming with a film crew to your house) What was your original aspiration? Where did things go awry? How did you craft your way towards accomplishment? Show us what you made. CraftStylish Craftathlon entires must be posted by 11:59pm, August 24th, 2008.

Here's how to enter:

  • Scroll down to the bottom of this post where you will find a picture frame icon. Click on where it says 'post your project in the gallery'.
  • Follow the post form to post your challenging craft project. All entries should include the following:
  1. Title of your project including the word “Craftathlon"
  2. A brief description of how you created your project, what was challenging, and how you overcame obstacles to achieve your personal best.
  3. Please post at least two great images of your project (image requirements are detailed in the form)

Here's what you'll win:

CraftStylish will award three crafting testimonials with a homepage feature of their crafting triumph! Testimonials will be reviewed by the CraftStylish editorial team and will be awarded the feature based on the following:

Did the story make us laugh?

Did it make us cry?

Was it inspirational?

Did we cheer them on?

Did it make us want to try the project?

The Craftahlon is a terrific opportunity for all crafters to take their crafty accomplishments to the next level: sharing their unique experiences, discoveries, and glories--and turning their crafts into gold! Good Luck and let the games begin!
