Make a French Seam Organza Gift Bag
comments (3) August 19th, 2008To finish the bag, fold the top raw edge of the bag to the wrong side 1/4 inch. Fold again 1-1/2 inches and pin in place. Sew along the bottom edge 1/8 inch away from the fold, leaving a 1-inch opening.
Fold under 1/4 inch of the raw edge to the wrong side of your bag. Fold again to create the casing top.
Sew another seam 3/8 inch away from the first seam, remembering to leave the same 1-inch opening. Thread the grosgrain ribbon through this casing.
Remember when you create the casing to leave a 1-inch opening for the ribbon to go through.
You can use these for wedding favor bags, gift wrapping, jewelry cases when you travel, or to keep your special threads like metallics from unravelling.
What a cute little gift of yummy chocolates!
