Recrafted Sweatshirt Jacket for Contest
comments (1) October 18th, 2010 in galleryI wanted to enter this jacket in the contest. Though the official rules say the contest is open through midnight Monday, October 18, the entry form appears to be closed.
This waist-length jacket is a recrafting of a favorite sweatshirt. The light blue back and sleeves are from a comfy, fleecy sweatshirt that I loved and accidentally stained on the front. I cut off the entire front, and cut two new panels from a half-yard of dark blue flannel from my stash.
I dressed it up with big buttons and rainbow colored thread, and added a piece of elastic across the lower back to make it fit snugly. I like the color contrast, and also the contrasting feel of the fabrics. It's warm, cozy and looks great with my jeans.
Best of all, my sweatshirt lives on!
