Kelly quilted her version of the To-Go Bag. Fusible Fleece fused to the bag and Decor Bond fused to the lining give it just the right amount of structure.
A lining is the perfect place to use a cute print.

It's so nice to get feedback when you teach a class. On Saturday, I taught a hands-on class of the tote that was on the cover of Threads Magazine, #137. Hands-on classes are usually not my favorite, because so often the students want to do the project exactly and I prefer providing inspiration and letting them take my ideas to a new level. Kelly Wood did just that. Check out her blogspot and see her wonderful quilts, photos, and art. She's a design manager for a textile company by trade, and works mostly on yardage for the hotel industry. I love what she does in her spare time!

shannonstoney writes: Hi, I had a lot of trouble making this tote. I used fusible fleece also for the interfacing, and when it came time to sew the main body to the sides, I came up short; that is, the pieces didn't seem to fit, even though I measured and cut carefully.

Also I thought the instructions about the bias tape were really confusing. Posted: 9:50 am on August 20th
