I've tried a lot of different marking devices, and I like a lot of them, but now that I've tried this hera marker -- I'm sold.  It's a thin little piece of plastic that simply, but effectively, leaves a crease on the fabric. No ink, chalk, powder, or grease. So there's no permanent mark.

I'm not sure if it will work for every marking task. I tried to mark darts, tracing the lines on the pattern and hoping that the crease would show on both layers of fabric. I could see the mark on the top layer and the pattern paper stays in tact, but I wasn't able to read the line on the under layer. It seems to work best on one thickness. But that's fine for quilting. It's genious. I love it!

eveh writes: You can take those old address labels and use a hold punch on them and end up with all these little dots that you can use for markers or reminders. Sometimes all you need is just a dot or two, like marking the center of something.

LindaPermann writes: I have been curious about this tool- looks like it would work for me! I always wish there was an easier way to mark all of the dots on clothing patterns. So far, stickers are my favorite because at least they are easy to see and remove. Sometimes I cut up old address label stickers that I get in the mail to use for that purpose (because I am cheap/crazy).
