Crocheted plarn bag made from bread bags. The red trim was done using a plastic mesh bags that freezer pops came in.

These are some items i've crocheted from recycled/upcycled items such as plastic grocery bags (plarn) and fabric stripes (old t shirts) Most things I just made up as I went along. I should have written down a pattern. I hope to do that next time. I also have made bags from using bread bags.(see picture) They are more work than using the grocery bags since they are smaller and you have to cut them a bit thinner, but looks so nice and are very strong.I also trimmed the top with a plastic mesh that some freezer pops came in.

When working with plarn, i found that the hook will sometimes not work through the stitch as it gets kind of stuck. A quick fix is to keep dusting your hands with baby powder. It gets on your work and the hook , making it glide right through.
