How to Make a Ribbon Chain Bracelet
comments (0) February 19th, 2011You can make this pretty little bracelet, a great girls' gift idea, in no more than ten minutes!
What you'll need:
- ribbon - 3/8" x 12" to make a 2-1/2" bow
- 4" of gold plated chain
- 6 jumprings 6mm 20ga
- 2 fancy jumprings 10mm, 20ga
- gold plated lobster clasp
- gold plated drop
- jewelry pliers
Cut 12 inches of your favorite ribbon lace, make a simple bow and trim the ends. I usually cut them at an angle for a cute touch.
Get 2 pieces of any chain, each 2 inches in length. Using pliers, attach each chain to the bow's loops. (I used 2 big jumprings just to make the bracelet more fancy, but you can use simple jumprings.)
Attach a lobster clasp to one end of the bracelet and 6 small jumprings to the other end. Finish the jumpring chain with a drop or a charm of your choice to make a stylish extender.
This bracelet can be made with different ribbons according to your tastes: on the pictures you can see 3/8"-thick ribbon, but wider or thinner ribbon could look more interesting.
You can substitute the lobster clasp with a springring or a toggle clasp. As the last picture shows, two or three chain layers make the bracelet bigger and add sparkle!
Good Luck!
