Baby’s First Curl Keepsack Box
comments (0) April 11th, 2011I was searching for the perfect keepsake box for our baby’s first hair cut, I looked everywhere but nothing seemed right, then I though to myself I am creative enough I can just make one which would be one of a kind for my daughter and when she opens it she will not only see her 1st curl but cherish that exact moment. It’s called an exploding box, it is like a scrapbook page but in a box. I think it came out really nice and I had a lot of fun making it and I hope when Jiya is old enough she will appreciate the effort I put in to making this.
Supplies:
- cardstock paper
- scissors
- paperclips
- double-sided tape
- ruler
- pencil
- pretty things (stickers, gems, design paper, etc) (I mostly picked up things on clearance from Michael’s and Jo-Ann)
- score board and tool (you could use a ruler and a non-working pen)
Cut two cardstock pages using the template for this box I used 30cm x 30cm and 24cm x 24cm and 13cm x 13 cm (leaving 1.5 cm on each side for the folding).
Score and Fold all the dotted lines and then decorate and put it all together. I put together everything with a paperclip first so incase I mess up I can just redo it. Make sure to decorate each flap before putting the box together.
The possibility of usage for these boxes are endless, you could make birthday or anniversary cards. you can put a jewelry in the middle of the card. They could be keepsake boxes or just a scrapbook page in a box, a memory that you may want to box forever.
Here are few pictures of the box, I have blurred the pictures and information for privacy.
I hope you enjoyed looking at this and good luck making one.
