Using size 10 16” needles, CO 56 sts, join in round.
Row 1&2: *k2, p2 across
Row 3: k across con for 18 more rows or until hat measures 4 inches.
Row 21: PM, *k8, PM, con * to end of row.
Row 22: *k to last three sts, k2tog, k1, MM. Con * until DPN’s are needed.
Switch to DPN, Con * until 12 sts remain.
Finishing:
Cut yarn leaving 8 inch tail. Using a tapestry needle Pull tail through last 12 sts, insert down through the top of hat and pull to close. Weave in end to finish.
Leaf (Make 2)
CO 13 sts.
Rows 1, 3, 5, 7: Inc in first st, K4; slip 2 together knit-wise,
K1, pass both slip sts over the K1 – S2KP made; K3, inc in
next st, K1.
Rows 2, 4, 6, 8: K6, P1, K6.
Row 9: K5, S2KP, K5 – 11 sts.
Row 10: K5, P1, K5.
Blossom:
1) CO 56 sts.
1) K row.
2) Switch to 2nd color
3) K row
4) *K1, BO 5 sts leaving last st on right needle. Repeat * to end. (16 sts).
5) Cut yarn leaving an 8 inch tail.
6) With tapestry needle thread tail through all remaining sts and pull tightly. Securely tie off and cut any ends.
2) CO 36 sts
1) K row
2) *K1, BO 5 sts leaving last st on right needle. Repeat * to end.
3) Cut yarn leaving an 8 inch tail.
4) With tapestry needle thread tail through all remaining sts and pull tightly. Securely tie off and cut any ends.
3) With 2nd color, Cast on 16 sts
1) K row
2) *K1, BO 5 sts leaving last st on right needle. Repeat * to end.
3) Cut yarn leaving an 8 inch tail.
4) With tapestry needle thread tail through all remaining sts and pull tightly. Securely tie off and cut any ends.
Finishing
Place flowers on top of one another the way you want.
With the same color yarn, Sew Button through flowers to hold.
Place leaves on hat the way you want, then weave them on with your tapestry needle.
Next, weave in Flower to the leaves, tie off and cut ends.
