Building a Garden Gate
comments (0) May 8th, 2011We HAD to have garden gate so people couldn't see the messy bits of my yard. You know the places. The garbage cans, the junk storage. etc.
I glued 3"x 1" tongue and groove pine together, rounded the top with my jigsaw and then painted it three different coats of color. I then sanded it back so that all the colors could come through in spots. This is my favorite "look" old, antiqued and well loved.
I save old things. hinges, glass knobs and stuff that make me smile. I started attaching some of these beloved and saved forms to my gate. A friend who was watching kept telling me to stop. I was getting to much stuff on the thing. She calls it "Crafty Flypaper" syndrome. Which I have in large quanities.
It was fun and I love it. I get great ideas from all over the web. This spot is a great one.
I create stuff that make me smile. I hope you do to!
