The matching clutch.  It was actually a slip cover for an inexpensive, black patent clutch.

My daughter formed a very specific design in her head starting with the colors - turquoise and sequins.  After browsing several stores online and trying on several dresses she sketched her party dress for senior prom.  We started with Vogue pattern 8190 which we had made true to the pattern for jr prom in 2010, changed the back, shifted the point in the front to be asymetrical, and removed ruching at center front and back.   With much guidance from Threads (especially May 2011 on underlining and proper construction of a strapless bodice) I am proud to present the finished product.  Taking the time to really construct (with boning & underlining in the bodice, and horsehair in the hem of the sequined skirt) made it fit like a glove, and hang beautifully.   She even had a matching clutch by using scraps to make a slip cover for a black patent one.  She wore 'Toms for Prom' with it.  She loved her ensemble!

LisaBinSD writes: Very special look with the two separate colors and textures. Nice that you have the figure for it, too! Well done.
