You’ve seen the beautiful DIY Globes on Wednesday Custom Design.com...

They’ve since graced every DIY blog since, and so I HAD TO ATTEMPT to make them!  Here is my way of making the Yarn Globe work on a Shoestring Budget:

Need~

  • Balloons ($1.99 at Hobby Lobby)
  • Yarn ($2.29 at HL)
  • Modge Podge ($4.47 at HL)
  • TOTAL: $8.75

(SEE ATTACHED NUMBERED PHOTO)

1) Grab your yarn and scissors, cutting about three feet for each balloon (or less if needed)

2) In a bowl mix 2/3 Modge Podge and 1/3 water and flour.  Dissolve the flour in the bowl completely.

3) Use your balloons to blow up to your desired size.

4) After tying the beginning of the string on the end of the balloon, start wrapping yarn around it.  Let sit 16 hours or longer, depending on the density of the yarn on the balloon.

5) POP THE BALLOON (my fave part) and take it out through a larger hole in the yarn globe.

Enjoy!
