Victoria, steampunk goth girl
comments (0) June 1st, 2011 in gallerySteampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, which involves an era or world where steam power is still widely used — usually the 19th century and often Victorian era Britain. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology or futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them; in other words, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc.
This is why steampunk dolls are usually made off metals like copper, brass, steel and iron, rivets, gears and cogs, wood, leather and glass. But have you ever seen a steampunk art doll 100% made of yarn? Here it is!
Victoria loves reading books and is passionate about all kinds of machines. She's dreaming of becoming an inventor just like her big idol Leonardo da Vinci.
She is wearing a beautiful crocheted dress in black and grey, adorned with gold. Her high boots are decorated with golden buckles. It took me 16 and a half hours to finish it.
This art doll is approximately 14'' (35 cm) tall and is made out of mixed yarn (wool, acrylic and cotton) and stuffed with polyfiber. She looks at the world with plastic safety eyes.
Victoria is a perfect gift for a child, adult or collector and of course for all steampunk, science fiction and fantasy lovers.
