waterfall of ruffles
comments (3) June 14th, 2011 in galleryI made this dress using thirteen yards of blue taffeta. The skirt has 69 ruffles of three different sizes sewn all the way around to create a beautiful waterfall effect. The bodice comes to a point in the front and back and is stiffened with boning. The front, sides, and back are decorated by hand using thousands of tiny silver seed beads and sequins to form vines, leaves, and flowers. A solid blue sash wraps around the waist and is tied in a bow at the front. The dress laces up the back for a perfect fit and the halter neckline is fastened behind the neck with two silver rhinestone buttons.
