A famous french writer once said, "A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away."  I think that it is important as a designer of anything, to realize when you have "overdone" a design.  When I originally made my teardrop necklace it had a variety of beads in all different colors.  I finally realized that the beads didn't add anything to the necklace.  It was actually more beautiful as a teardrop with two silver strings.  So the next time you go to make a brand new item, only add what is necessary, stand back, and admire.
