Hamsa hands can be found in a variety of religions.  There is no clear origin of where the hamsa comes from.  Hamsas come in an array of designs and sizes.  Sometimes the fingers are seperated to ward of evil, or closed to symbolize good luck.  Different cultures will wear their hamsas with the fingers pointing up or down or even with an evil eye or Star of David in the palm of the hand.  Today the hamsa hand is a popular symbol and not just in the Middle East.  It can be found anywhere from a homemade hamsa hand bracelet, to on clothing and hats.  No matter what your country a little luck can go a long way.
