Sunflowers are one of my all time favorite flowers.  If you don't live in a tropical or exotic climate there aren't too many flowers that grow as tall and big as sunflowers.  When crafting it's a good idea to look at your favorite things for inspiration!  It's also good to remember that you don't have to make your art/craft into exactly what the inspiration is.  For example my homemade earrings look as though the petals are being tousled by the wind.  Also no one wants to wear earrings are big as sunflowers so I scaled them down to a more appropriate size!
