Just about the right length and width, a door makes for an ideal table. With this tutorial from StartWoodworking.com, you can make your own for under $100. It is possible to use entirely recycled materials. Solid wooden doors are common at thrift and antique stores, and old road signs can be used as the aluminum for the panels. Learn how to prepare the door, assemble the legs, attach the door brace, and inlay the aluminum with these how-to instructions. With a frame made from standard 2" x 4"s, this desk is lightweight and easy to break down for moving.
