This sweet little coin purse would make an ideal starter knit and felt project.

You can use any felting yarn to make this purse. Finer yarn will make more delicate felt, thicker yarn will make chunky felt.
Choose needles to give a loose knitted fabric.
I recommend 2 strands of 4ply/ fingering yarn.

Abbreviations
k =knit
p = purl
K2tog = Knit the next 2 stitches together
sl st =slip stitch from left onto right needle without knitting into it.

Pattern

Cast on 20 stitches
*sl st1, knit 19
sl st1, purl 19 * repeat these 2 rows until you have 40cm
Finish on a purl row
k1, K2tog, k14, k2tog, k1 (18st)
Purl 1 row
Cast off loosely knit wise.
Measure from under the knitting needle to the cast on edge 40cm

Sew in the end of the wool weaving in the end along the cast off edge.

Making up

Fold up 14cm from the cast on edge right side out.
Ladder stitch the folded edges together through the slipped stitches.
