I love to cut, and sometimes design my own, Scherenschnitte tree ornaments but could not come up with a complimentary tree skirt until I came across Liz Benjeddi's work. I used her idea of intricate machine decorative stitching on prairie points but used a solid white plain cotton and rayon thread on the two rows. The points had to be spaced around the circular, quilted tree skirt and then topped with a heavily embellished curved band. The back of the circle was slit, a small hole was cut in the center, and those cut edges were bound. It is wonderfully easy to do, but it looks complicated - just like the ornaments!

Connie79 writes: Absolutely beautiful! The decorative stitching that matches the background fabric makes the tree skirt! Also like the fact that the skirt has more of a cone shape and does not lie flat.
