Inquiry: How to Xmas ornaments

I had a friend try to tell me how her friend made Christmas ornaments by using styrofoam trays (that meat comes in) by gluing xmas cards on, triming the excess and heating in the oven to shrink them.  does anyone know of a proceedure that resembles this one?
