My first attempt at a fabric bowl

I had the best time making this, my first attempt, at a fabric bowl. I bought a rope washing line which was 25 metres and it was ideal for the basis to wrap the fabric around. I chose my fabric and cut it into bias strips of approx 1-1.5cm wide and about 45cms in length. I made it in stages and wrapped fabric round approx 18 ins of rope at a time and then used zigzag stitch as I turned the rope around (wrapped in the fabric). I found that keeping the needle in the fabric at all times made it easier to wrap the fabric and keep the rope taut. I will make more like this using different colours. You could also make placemats and coasters using this method.
