Machine Embroidered Rubber Waffle Placemats

Machine Embroidered Rubber Waffle Placemats - Designs by EMBLibrary.com and Viking.  Super easy and fun project.  Original idea from my local Viking Sewing Center.  I made them for a summer outdoor dinner party.  Everyone loved the fun colors and flowers.  You can make them with any color or designs to fit the occasion, holiday or time of year.

Sweet_Pea writes: Actually I just use Premium Sulky 40st Rayon embroidery thread. And yes, you simply rinse or soak to clean. I usually roll the wet mats in a towel to get most of the water off and then lay flat to dry. What's really cool about these mats is that you can do them for any season, holiday or special occasion. They can really dress up a table with a minimum of cost.

Wool? Yarn? And I bet they rinse off in the sink just fine. (Before we got woolite, we used plain old dish soap for washing delicates.)
