Fall in love with this irresistible necklace made with opalescent champagne pink Biwa pearls, and an expertly hand hammered three dimensional sterling silver rose. The Biwa pearls are teardrop shaped cultured pearls from the fresh water mussels of Lake Biwa in Japan. To grow Biwa pearls, small squares of mother of pearl are inserted into the freshwater clams. These will eventually produce pearls, irregular in shape, that are lustrous and of beautiful color. It takes approximately three years of patience to be rewarded with a Biwa pearl.
