Quilting has been my passion for the past 15 years. I grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and have traveled around the world living for extended periods of time in both Germany and Italy. I received a BA in Art History from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Masters Degree in business management from the University of Mary. I have enjoyed studying a variety of art; including painting, black and white photography, two and three dimensional design and bronze casting. With an art history and studio art background, I have a strong appreciation for traditional quilting as well as a love for art quilting and the merging of the two disciplines.

Re: Needle Punch Fan Blocks

Needle Punch is done using a needle punch or felting machine. I have a Baby Lock Embellisher and Janome makes a version as well and I think Bernina makes an attachment for their machines. They look just like a regular sewing machine, except they have 7 or more needles that will punch through your fabric and "felt" it together.
You can also make my block with a traditional sewing machine by top stitching over the raw edges of the fabric.
