Re: Happy Fat Tuesday: Eat Pancakes!
I've never heard of Fat Tuesday as pancake Tuesday...? But I like it and I like the idea of eating breakfast for dinner. Your mom sounds like a hoot!

This sounds divine. But as we all help each other out with watching our kids...hmmm, leave them all with the dads for the weekend? Thanks for such an awesome idea.

This is shockingly great! I agree with the other comment--I want to BUY this--I don't think I could make mine so beautifully--and the colors you chose--just perfect

Michaela,
posted: 7:46 pm on August 7thThis post made me smile. I can remember my mother and the sewing machine that we bought her one year--the one that ended up gathering dust up in our attic! Maybe there is an entire generation of crafty types, like us, who became DIY enthusiasts because of our mother's wayward ambitions? Thanks for this--your posts are always so great and fun to read:)
Re: Crochet Artist Makes a Statement by Covering Gas Station
I love this project and I totally disagree with the comments that have posted!!! That this article has prompted such commentary proves it's worth as an important piece of art and as a statement by the artist--you were moved, albeit negatively ,to respond. Ms. Marsh has brought together a community of fiber artists to create something provocative and extraordinary out of an abandoned gas station and has got people talking. That's really cool and an inspired idea.

posted: 4:18 pm on June 15thThanks for this post. My dad died last year and I miss him so much today--but your post reminded me of the doll house that he built for me when I was six. He was a general contractor and he had built our house in Michigan (where I'm from) He used the same wall-paper and carpeting that was in our own house. When I think of all of the detail that he put into it, it makes me smile. I loved that doll-house and spent hours playing in it.
