I have been a part of the craft industry for 23 years. I began selling fabric and notions at our local JoAnns Fabric store in Amherst, Ohio, received a marketing degree from Kent State University, became a craft buyer for Wal-Mart Stores, started my first company, DMD Industries, with my husband Randy, which was sold to Creativity Inc. and we have begun a new company, Canvas Corp.

They say I am very creative and I have used that creativity to design products for the craft market. Our first line Paper Reflections was all about paper and our new line is all about creative products for the home, Canvas Home Basics. I am so excited to see the emerging trend of creative home décor and have felt there was a void in the market for basic products to create unique products for the home.

The concept of the Canvas Home Basics line came to my while we were building our fist home and found it so hard to find products that would help us plan to spaces and even harder to find creative products to decorate. The line offers a wide range of component products that come together to create unique craft projects. Some of the categories we have already introduced to fill a void: our line of natural ropes, cords and twine, which are featured in almost every home décor magazine, but hard to find; a line of decorative clothespins, we are seeing them used everywhere, so we created them in a great variety of finishes; and a DIY/craft paint that would adhere to anything.
