I believe I will finally be able to repair my 3 Granny Square afghans (made by various Grannys, as much as 70 years ago) that have really taken a beating over the years. Kharmin

Fabulous! Count me as another one who has quit buying into the "use it once and throw it away" thinking!
And, if your first attempt *does* end up being a bit looser than you wanted, just thread some elastic around the edge to snug it up.

Sangl has the right idea - one more photo, plus add the words "across the ends" to the last seaming directions. It's a natural jump to assume you're also sewing up the long side, but you don't. It took me a couple of reads to notice, too.
