I frequently use velcro with the adhesive backing so I don't have to mess with pins...and if/when your needle gets gunked up just keep a bottle of goo gone near you and wipe off the needle (while still attached to the machine). Makes things quick and easy and no pins to mess with! Works like a charm every single time.
