Re: Project Runway All Stars: "A Night at the Opera"
Loved this challenge! I agreed with the judges, Michael and Austin's dresses were the best. I'm not sure what happened to Sweet Pea, she can usually pull something out of her hat, but both of her looks were so disappointing. Still missing Tim!!!

I agree - worst ever! Like Heidi says, one day you are in - the next you are out! Way too much drama for me. The personalities this year are just not endearing to me and I don't think the designers are all that great, although the challenges so far haven't been that great either. I really liked Bert's outfit, (but I really don't like him)and Becky was given a really raw deal, and really - who would ever wear what Anthony Ryan put out there? This was a tough one. And when are they going to hold Anya to the same standard that they do the others? Did her dress look exactly like one she did a few weeks ago????

Crazy, crazy challenge. I loved the green jacket and pants and thought that one should have won, but the red one was OK too. Sorry for Falene, but if you don't know how to find the grain of a fabric, sorry, I don't think you belong on the show. I really dislike whiney, old Bert - I hope he goes soon, he is such a naysayer! and his designs/color choices are huge yawns. And I totally agree with the sheepskin top winner from last week - too simple, not attractive and totally unoriginal - what were they thinking????? I believe that controversy and drama are really what reality TV is all about, so we put up with it if we want to watch. And even tho I don't always agree with the judges, keep in mind that we don't see what they see......

I have been waiting for this for MONTHS!!! It thought it was a very interesting challenge to start to the season - I liked Bert's dress, but was not crazy about the color. Anya's pants are not attractive, they are way too baggy, but the blouse, while it had a few construction/fit issues was a beautiful transformation. Anthony's skirt was a bit too short and I didn't like the stripe on the rear. That said, I thought most of the designers did a bang up job for what they had to work with. I always try to think about what I would do with each challenge, and given what I had on....my boyfriend and I came up with a cute concept, of course, I didn't run to my dress form and start draping!

I have been continuously disappointed all season, but still....they are doing a better job than I could, so you have to give them all kudos for making it onto the show and these 4 for coming this far. Michael's reaction was so predictable - get on with it after all - if you look back at all the past seasons, at least the last 6 or so have gone on to do great things (don't have stats). People will definitely want his designs. But he's been insecure the whole way. I still think it's going to be a great runway show - I am psyched for next week - it will be interesting to see how Gretchen deals with the Granola comments. I am from Portland originally and I totally get her point of view. Not that I like everything she does, but I do know where she is coming from.

After not completing all my Christmas sewing this year, my resolution is to set aside a few hours a week to work on projects for others. I have had an embroidery machine for several years, but just recently got it moved (I moved out of state) and set up, so another sewing resolution is to learn to use it and upgrade my software so I can manipulate designs and digitize. Along with getting some basic patterns for dress, blouse, skirt and pants fitted to my body so I can actually sew for myself. As for my quilting resolution.....finish my daughter's wedding quilt - she'll be married 4 years this February!
