Like many, my Mom taught me to sew. By my high school years, I was making everything I wore. College found me majoring in home economics. Once our kids were well into school, I realized my life-long dream, and opened a retail fabric store - Londa's Sewing Etc. in Champaign, IL. After 13 years, I switched to an internet-based business: www.londas-sewing.com to 'have my life back again!' I especially love being a 'Nana' to our 3 year old grandson.

As you can imagine, I have plenty of clothes - and working from home, I sure don't even need what is hanging in my closet! To satisfy my NEED to create with fabric, my niche has become transforming sweatshirts into stylish jackets ..and selling my styles and techniques in my DVD and patterns. Traveling the country to consumer sewing expos, guilds and stores gives me the chance to continue teaching - which I LOVE to do!

My personal mission is “To offer quality sewing products with passion, individual attention, and creative suggestions as a fellow avid seamstress, teacher and designer.”

THANKS! Saved in my travel folder - for when I finally, ever get to New York, I'll think I died and went to sewers' heaven!

Re: How to Make Your Own Newspaper Yarn

Absolutely mind-blowing - this AND the crocheting with cut widths of the plastic T-shirt bags! And I thought plastic T-bags were only for re-using or cleaning out my cat litter pans!

Re: How to Make a Cheater's Hong Kong Finish

Wonderful step-by-step directions - thanks! This is the way I learned/do it. How is it done in any other way? Handstitching for 'stitching in the ditch'?
