Wardrobe Refashion: Dress to Shirt

I made this top out of a striped jersey dress I had in my closet and haven't worn in years.  I cut the front and back pieces of the shirt from the bottom of the dress, turning it sideways so the...

Ministry of Silly Walks T-Shirt

This is a freezer paper print that I made as a Christmas gift for my brother.

Freezer Paper Samuel L Jackson

This is my first time trying freezer paper printing and I am hooked!  This one is a gift for my brother, and I think I will be making another one for myself after the holidays.

Pretty Purple Cowl

I tried the Cozy Lace Cowl pattern and absolutely love it!  The instructions were easy to follow and memorize, and gave beautiful results.  This purple cowl used up some yarn I had leftover...

The Un-Cosby Sweater

This is the story of an epic garment refashioning.  It started a week ago when I was at Goodwill looking for neckties to use for a different project.  I decided to look through the sweaters...

Flower Power Necktie Bag

A gorgeous tote bag from the challenge that lets you take the flower power with you!

Flannel and Tweed

This purse is made from an old blue flannel shirt, two neckties, and some blue tweed houndstooth fabric.  The bag is reversible, with one side houndstooth and the other side flannel.  The...

Lumberjack Chic

This is a purse I made with my own pattern from two old shirts and two old neckties.  The bag is fully reversible.  One side is made from a red, blue, and gree plaid button down shirt, and...

Modern Mary: Handbag Edition

After making my Modern Mary Poppins tote bag for the challenge, I decided that I wanted a handbag version of the bag for the times when a tote bag just isn't practical. I created the pattern myself...

Convertible Dress Attempt Two

This is my second attempt at making the convertible dress.  I think it turned out pretty well.  Last time I didn't put enough elastic for the skirt waist, but this time I was spot onnbsp...

Convertible Dress Attempt One

I saw the Convertible Dress tutorial and had to try it!  I pulled out some stretchy fabric my neighbor gave me when she cleaned out her sewing room.  It has stripes on one side, and is...

Modern Mary Poppins

I am entering this bag into the Eco Chic category. It is made from old upholstery samples that I saved from the garbage, four old ties saved from a bag forgotten in the back of a closet, and buttons...

Re: Sweet P & Sage Swing Seattle Fashion Forward with Pulp Lab

I loved watching Sweet P on Project Runway! And that dress is wonderful :)

Re: Flower Power Necktie Bag

Thanks guys! taja, I encourage you to use those fabric scraps! It is easy to sneak them in on projects instead of using new fabric. Or as appliques and embellishments. :)

Re: Buttons to Cover Flowers

Those are so cute! You should enter them into the Flower Power Challenge :)

Re: Flannel and Tweed

Thanks gran05! At this point I have no plans to make a tutorial based on time constraints and a busy schedule. However, it might be a project for next summer... So glad you like it :)

Re: Why You Should Have a Sketchbook

I had to keep a graded sketchbook for an art class and it was one of the best things I have ever done to boost my creativity!

It is also a great place to tape in things that inspire you, write down thoughts, and document how you did something and whether or not it worked, etc.

Re: How to Organize Your Brooches and Pins

I bet you could paint the hoops before adding the felt for an extra pop of color.

Re: Crafte's Inferno: The Second Circle of Craft Hell

This basically defines me life, lol. I always go above and beyond when I craft or create art. That is why my friends lovingly call me a masochist... :)

Re: HOOK MINDERS

That is such a good idea! I can't tell you how many projects I've had to trash because I forgot which hook I was using.

Re: Easy Peasy Pouches

Those are so cute! Thanks for sharing :)

Re: You Got The Notions

Cute fabrics! Have you seen the Project Runway clothing patterns? I think they are by simplicity.

Re: Convertible Dresses

I need to make one of these! I think I've found my next project :)

Re: tambourine tote.

This is so cute! Bob Dylan would be proud, it even has a harmonica pocket on the front ;)

Re: Crafte's Inferno

The striped fabric on the second pillow from the back looks very familiar... I think I have some samples of that same fabric in a ton of different colors. One of my Professor's daughters used to work at Donghia, and she had a huge collection of discontinued fabric samples that the store was going to throw away. My Professor wanted them out of her house, so she gave them to me! I actually used many of them for the tote bag challenge :D

Anyway, the pillows are cute! And I can just imagine all the nice textures.

Re: Like Water AND Chocolate Eco Tote

Cute tote, ReFabulous! Glad to find you outside of Etsy :)

Re: Renegade Jewelry Artists Look to the Past for Inspiration

Jen, I moved to Ohio for school and when I pointed to my hand to show where I came from, they gave me the strangest looks... People either have no idea what I'm talking about, or they think it is the coolest thing in the world and make me do it all the time! :)

Re: Amigurumi Octopus

I have used my own variation on that pattern and they turn out adorable every time!

Re: Threadbanger Gets CraftStylish with a Tote

You should check out zJayne on Etsy, she does AMAZING things with t-shirts. http://zJayne.etsy.com

Re: Green Grocery Totes

Actually, some grocery stores in the US are starting to charge for bags, or at least give you a small discount for bringing your own bags.

Re: The Tote-ally Crafty Bag Challenge

If I understand this correctly, I just need to "enter" pictures of my bag and not the actual thing. I am just making sure I won't have to give up my bag, because I don't think I will be able to part with it!
