I would like to win it. I don't have any books from Burda.

The 2 youngest grandgirls now want to learn to sew, and I gave them sewing boxes filled with supplies for Christmas. The bag on the book cover looks like the sort of project that will continue to hold their interest while we work on skills. I look forward to seeing the rest of the projects in the book.

I love the explosion of color. My granddaughter has just asked to learn how to sew. The bright colors will appeal to her and it would be fun to create a quilt together.

I enjoy working with quilting fabric and designs but I prefer making something to wear. This is a perfect combination.

I go to Sewing Expo in Minneapolis every fall. Sometimes I take classes in garment sewing, sometimes embellishment. I do miss the Threads booth and the Threads Designer Challenge, as well as the Taunton books giveaway. I'm signed up for an Embroidery Conference in Owatonna, MN on June 10th, my first. And I always learn something new from the experienced quilters at Clearwater Chrysalis women's retreat (Deerwood, MN) every August.

I have been competing with volleyball, computer games, i-phone, rollerblading, and all manner of pre-teen pastimes in trying to maintain my granddaughter's vacillating interest in sewing. Twinkle Sews may be just the inspiration to get her back to the fabric store with me. I hope we win.
