The Ultimate Sewing Room contest entry
I always use a single edged razor (it's what I grew up on) instead of seam ripper, and a "wedding band" type thimble. But the most necessary item for me now is a pair of my Dad's round nosed plyers that my brother dipped the handles and gripping nose part, in that rubber-like coating. I can pull a needle through ANYTHING! and still not rough up the needle. A momento from my Dad and thoughtfulness from my brother ---- and my love of sewing!
I'm just making mine out of "chintz" fabric (shinny on one side & crisp) then wraping my sandwich in waxed paper- - - I always want to "fasten" the wax paper closed, and aside from a corsage pin, this works better, AND WAY CUTER!!!!! This and a napkin and a matching lunch bag? I am too cool! Ha!
Would LOVE to win the book!
Need to win this book---- obsessed with having more new ideas!
I wonder who might have access to all those in-progress projects? Might give me a head start on something, even if I had to finish with a contrasting color. LOL.
You are so blessed to have this time with your mother. Cherish it and make the scarf ---- she will recognize the fabric and love you the more for the great gift --- besides it will be smashing !!!!!
Hey to Erica! Cut out those sleeves in the 50's blouse and wear it under an open blazer to show it off! If it is kinda fragile, "tack" the front to a piece of sheer silk and then make a whole blouse with using just the 50's front that is now sturdier and other "new" parts.
I LOVE LOVE these!!! I'm going to crochet over some clear elastic on the last round, then I won't have to mess with straps. These are a perfect project.
This is really a great idea. I'm going to do this tomorrow. Walgreen has a special on theirs today and I just can't get started making me some. BUT I'll add the patchwork and leave the top of the patchwork strip open to make a pocket. I love pockets and you never know !!!
