Slipcovers
I make my slipcovers by cutting and pinning-fitting a muslin half-pattern. The skirtless hem stays put with hook and loop tape. Extra fabric in the deck tucks into the crevices...

Re: How do you use up your fabric stash?
I love Vickiev's campaign! I have a custom slipcover workroom so I know how stashes can grow. What a great way to repurpose those odd size remnants!

Bo, thanks for your comment! I'm new to Craftstylish and still haven't figured it all out yet. It's good to connect!

Re: Handmade Nation in Portland
Reading Susan Beal's article on Handmade Nation with Fayth Levine in Portland, Oregon, brought back some mighty happy memories! Having lived there from '78 to '96, I spent many happy hours in Powell's; there's nothing like it. When my sojourn on the East Coast is over, my husband and I look forward to returning and reconnecting with our old haunts. In the meantime, I'm happily sewing, knitting, crafting and making music in this lovely little town that's been so good to us!

Repurposing with something I plenty of and with an outcome I can really enjoy. Bravo!

Great ove glove tip! My husband got one for Christmas in 07; it's great for the kitchen, but too greasy for the workroom - I'm going to get one just for me. Thanks, too, for the Heat n Bond Lite tip. Happy New Year!
