For me, the idea about making patchwork from used clothes came because my daughter had some clothes she insisted on wearing even though they were clearly becoming too small and had a problem with a closing mechanism. I fully understood why she wanted to keep the clothes; they were very cute. When I suggested that we could recycle the clothes in a throw/blanket for her, she immediately agreed. She used the blanket in the bicycle trailer, the car, the couch, the bed – and as picnic blanket when her teddies gathered round for a cupcake and some tea.. Having made one for her, I had to make one for her brother. Of course! But then he wanted to have his blanket for nap time at preschool, so I had to make him another one. And then his sister wanted a second one too. Of course!

That's how it started for me. Now I have been making patchworks and quilts for family and friends for a while, and when I started looking into starting a business with it, I got some very positive feedback. So now I'm going to give it a try to see if I can actually make a living out of it! Visit my shop on Etsy to see what I make :)
