I have been creative since childhood when I made embroidered valentines for my parents and cut up cardboard boxes fashioning them into multi-level Barbie doll abodes filled with furniture. I attended BYU for four+ years studying Interior Design. I've sewn all my life and want to stitch up my endless vintage yardage into cute clothes and sell them in my Etsy shop starting this summer. I'm married to my high school sweetheart and have four wonderful children. For eleven years I have served on my local school board which has given me more than my fill of left brain activity. All of this has kept me quite busy for a long time, so now it's time to focus on creativity!

Re: Project Runway: Race to the Finish

Sadly, I agree that Ivy should have gone home this week. That dress, that color - oooh, hid - eee - ose! I liked her thinking and reasoning, but it just didn't turn out. Loved Mondo's look. He answered the challenge of making something that was over-the-top. It was sooo creative. Everybody else did well enough. I liked Valerie's dresses. I'm not sure why she got so hammered. Last comment: I totally disagree with the judges on Gretchen's dusty color caftan. Awful. And her ready-to-wear was also boring. She makes nice flowy clothes... out of bland colors... every time.

Re: Project Runway: Hat's Off to You

I gotta say, there's something about Mondo's design. It worked. Someone who'd wear a hat like that - would wear an outfit like that. And you gotta admire Michael's use of crushed and crimped fabric which worked so perfectly with his monster hat. I also thought Gretchen pulled off a great look the way she echoed the hat by pattern and color in the ensemble - she's good. I, too, had a completely different vision for the orchid hat.
