While designing for the petite and curvy, a request came in for pet apparel. I got a real kick out of how a beautiful dress looked on my friends dog. So I made a dress for her dog that matched her sons dates homecoming dress. The date loved the dress so much that after taking pictures at one house, they went to the others house and put the dress on the cat.

I made this dress as the muslin for a dress that I was making for a holiday party.  I used an inexpensive knit fabric that had a fun print.  I like to us a fabric for a muslin that can be...

The Bag Bag

Re: The Bag Bag

In order to make this bag I cut the bags in half from the center of the bag through the handle. This kept the bags the same size. I opened one of the bags up along the sides and placed it on a piece of poster board. This was the lining of the plastic so that items would not poke through the weaving. I wove the bags together by placing the set of rows on poster board and holding it to the board with binder clips. As I wove the strips crosswise, I held them in place with binder clips. After I finished weaving the pieces together, I attached them to the lining piece by sewing around the edges. I then used the woven bags as a piece of fabric and sewed up the rest of the bag.

Re: The Bag Bag

I'm so glad that you like this. My next project will be a dress using the bags for the bodice. My daughter wants to wear it for Earth Day next April. I found a great eco-friendly cotton fabric that has eco-friendly sayings on it that I will use for the skirt.
