I learned to sew at my mother's side as a very young girl. I didn't use patterns and learned how to design and create my own doll's clothes. I spent several years in St. Louis and while there, I was a seamstress to Julie Anderson, Wearable Art Artist and also handcrafted, sequined and beaded the Elvis Peacock Jumpsuit for the St. Louis Wax Museum. I also designed and created wedding gowns, headpieces and formalwear for those with discriminating taste. I've always loved the creative arts and found them to be a form of relaxation therapy. I also found that designing furniture and building it in my own shop is as important in my life and have been doing this for about 20 years. I have a 12 year old granddaughter who has spinal muscular atrophy and this led me to design and build adaptive devices to improve her enjoyment and allows her to participate in activities that otherwise would be impossible (playing cards). I will be presenting a line of wheelchair accessible dollhouses in the near future. There is nothing like them! I absolutly promise you'll be stunned! Stay tuned...

Re: Sorting my Stash
I always find that when I take the time organize, it's amazing how much I have, many duplicates too. I love what you've done. Inspires me to organize!

Thank you so much for your comments. As a crafter, I found it hard to keep everything organized in a bag when I was on the go. This way, I have pockets for everything from needles to crochet hooks to yarn and the piece I'm working on. This really came to light when I was waiting for my husband to complete a medical test and was having to dig to find what I needed in the tote that I was carrying.
