Re: How to Make an Eco-Friendly Snack Bag
I use oilcloth that is used for table cloths to make lunch sacks. You can still wrap your food with waxed paper, at least you can save the bag.

Sets of fancy pillowcases make nice gifts. Although not as luxurious at those pictured, we make "sports" themed pillowcases for boys, "princess" themed for girls. I started making them out of necessity - when sheets were sold individually, instead of sets. I made fancy flannel pillowcases to match plain flannel sheets (many years ago).

I think this is a wonderful thing to do - whether you are green or not. I have been making these for years as gifts in funky denim (durable) with trims - for both men and women.

I cannot tell you how many people stop and ask - where did you get your bags? (I usually make 4-6 per person) They are more durable - I can carry so much more in one trip to the house.
