Tesla Bag
Inspired by a documentary, I got this idea to do a bag to celebrate Nicola Tesla, who was brilliant and fascinating and a little more than odd. But that's how geniuses are! The bag is capacious...
Mod Duct Tape Dress
Duct tape strikes again! This is one of my entries for the state fair this year. Instead of weaving the tape, I adhered it in even rows onto freezer paper, then cut it out with a regular dress...
Black Disco Diva Bag
Yet another in my (seemingly) endless line of bags. I crocheted this the afternoon before I went out dancing, since I wanted something chic but not too dressy. Also, it was small enough to keep on my...
Sea Turtle Purse
I make bags almost constantly. To me, there is nothing as cool as making something to carry stuff around in. The construction is a basic rectangle with the top corners lopped off. The turtle body...
Duct Tape Hat
Maybe it's beacuse I work for an HVAC company, but I am a huge fan of duct tape. It's sturdy, washable, colorful, and has body. The only drawback is that it's, well, tape. To make working with...

I am a big Halloween-costume person, and I appreciate the work that goes into them from start to finish. You deserve major kudos for this one, because this is seriously one of the best I have seen. Rockin'!

Most of the decoration is the woven duct tape itself. There is a thin band of white duct tape around the brim, which isn't visible here due to the marabou. The white trim on the crown is bias tape, because it was easier and neater to make a finished circle with (unsticky) fabric than (sticky) tape. The bias tape was hot-glued on. The brim is trimmed with marabou, applied with the glue gun. The flower decoration is made up of two elements, both readily available at a craft or sewing store. The back part is a feather "spray" that came already fanned and the front is just a gool old silk rose. Really, the trimming was the easy part.

Unfortunately, I never could get anyone to try it on. The only person who volunteered was a guy! I think my sister-in-law would fit, but she would sooo not do that. :-)

Thanks so much. I'm flattered you like it enough to want to use it. I say, go for it!

Super bag! I like the fabrics you chose and the pattern itself is really architectural.
