My husband and I are retired and live in Arlington, TX. Between us we have 6 children. We had 7, however our eldest passed away suddenly when he was only 42. We are grandparents to 15, and great-grandparents to 5. We had planned to travel when retired, however I had a life threatening disease that almost took my life, but God still has plans for me. Having been hospitalized many times and very ill during the past 7 years, it has taken lots of work and determination to become physically able to walk, stand and do some of the things I "used to do." But now, I'm doing much better. I have just recently been able to try crocheting again - part of my physical mobility problem is RA, neuropathy, gout and other changes my body went thru from illness. I recently read a book written by a man who died and spent "90 Minutes in Heaven," and returned only to be completely invalized. Most of his story is about his healing of his mind and attitude and he developed a "new normal" description of his life now; since he finally accepted that he would never return to the normal he had been before. That has encouraged me to take on a "new normal" outlook on life and already God is making some changes I thought were impossible. I just finished a crochet project of a pattern I found on this site - crocheting on flip-flops and decorating them. They are adorable and I'm celebrating! Thank you for reading my profile.
