I learned to sew, crochet, embroider, needlepoint, crossstitch (I am sure I am forgetting something else) from my mother, who learned from her mother, since I was a little girl. We used to be in 4H & my mother was our leader. When I was 9, I was very ill (homebound), so lots of craft time with my mother. I will forever be greatful to her. As the years have progressed, I have become a collector of craft items. As my grandmothers passed away, I inherted all of their craft items, my great aunts, the same. As friends or co-workers passed, their craft items were all given to me. A few years before my mother passed away, she was given all the crafts from friends of hers that had passed away (4 of them) which I then inherted. I could truly open a small store of my own, but I try to bless others (people in need) or groups that make things for people in need (linus project). I also work at a drapery shop & get all of the discarded/trashed designer pieces of fabric(some are quite large) & the discontinued Fabric Sample Books). But my personnel favorite thing to collect is Old Singer Sewing machines, older craft books from the 30s & 40s, older patterms, ect. It is from these items that we now have the knowledge that we have today. I love being blessed today from the knowledge of yesterday. I love to mix the old with the new. Crafting truly is my passion. Crafts of all kinds. I have no daughters of my own (2 sons), but hope to someday have granddaughters to teach. Time will tell. Come visit me, I have loads to share.........

Re: You Can Fuse Leather

I would love to see a video project on this idea...

Re: On a Roll with Trim

If you have the pipe laying in your garage, that is great. I work at a drapery shop & we throw away fabric tubes everyday. These are very strong. You can get these free, just ask them. Save money & recycle. You can still wrap in felt as discribed above. Great Idea. I cannot wait to set up mine.
