Like her custom blended yarns, Linda Ostroff is also colorful, richly textured and a tangled ball of fun.

She is the one-woman tour de force behind Custom Yarns By Linda, an Internet business she launched from her home in 1999. Since that time, Custom Yarns By Linda has attracted legions of yarn fans from around the globe. They are as diverse as the combinations and uses of her ever-changing spectrum of colors, yarn blends and textures.

"I specialize in novelty yarns, putting colors and fibers together like you've never seen before," says Ostroff. "The yarn designs are my own. So are my color choices. "

It all started with something Linda calls "knitter's stash."

"It's that leftover yarn from former projects, or those unused skeins you bought on sale and have never used," Ostroff states. "Or those dreaded, 'what was I thinking?' yarn purchases. Pressing her overactive imagination into superdrive, coupled with the dire need to tame her overflowing yarn basket, Linda got the bright idea to intertwine or blend several yarns together. The result? A panolpy of yarn colors and textures that are their own original works of art.

Voila! Linda's bright idea was the basis for her equally dazzling custom blended yarn business. Nine years later, Linda sells to thousands of customers from around the world.
