I think heaven is the second hand clothes store. All the possibilities! I can buy something for the buttons or color of fabric alone!
Sweaters with a bit of fleece are great vests.
Old bras are wires, hooks and straps for a new design.
Slips find new life as camisoles.
The lace on old wedding or prom dresses decorate many a piece of lingerie.
Say you want sleeves on a dress that has none? Think arm "gators".
