Re: Book Giveaway: Betz White's "Sewing Green: 25 Projects Made with Repurposed & Organic Materials"

It's amazing how great minds work. I use an old supermarket shopping bag when I take my lunch and bottle of water to work. The bag tears and if the cap isn't screwed on to the bottle tight, it leaks.
I wondered if by ironing four bags together so that the meted together and sing two sets of these together with gussets it would make a usable, attractive bag. It was a start. I needed a lining so I attached some plastic self adhesive shelf lining material to the inside and it looked like a tote.

But how would I carry it? Two lengths of fish aquarium tubing with brightly colored seed beads filling the inside and heat sealing the ends to keep in the beads,

On the outside I used rubber stamps with all sorts of inks, fabric paints and glued on beads and findings made it glorious.
Xheck out my fun blog janesjools.com to see. As soon as my husbnd takes ome pix I will be posting the results.
