Re: How to Make Lacy Hairpins
I like it! I am going to make some for my Church Boutique. Thank you for a great idea.

I'm still trying to figure out what happened! The $100k was stolen from Mondo. While I liked a few of Gretchen's designs, I was "confused" by the underpants look. Plus her long skirt and top looked fashion backward to me and not fashion forward. I love Tim Gunn and I would love to know what he really thinks about this season.

Gretchen...really? I want to like her, I actually liked quite a few of her designs. But she has been so unlikable in her commentary about other designers, especially Michael C, it's hard to like her. As for the runway, Michael C had beautiful designs. I think he actually does better with a short deadline. His 11th design was beautiful. I think Gretchen should have been the one sent home. Tim Gunn has made the distinction between clothes and fashion. Her runway looked more like clothes. Best luck to Michael. I think he has a lot of talent. Be brave Michael and hold onto you dreams!

Whoa! What a show! I guess when you ask an artist to recall things from their childhood, you run the risk of opening an emotional Pandora's box. Unfortunately, the judges can be brutal. I thought Valerie's dress was better than Andy's shorts. I think the family distraction derailed both of them. I liked Gretchen's top and fabric design. However, I don't see her standing a chance against Mondo. He had the most emotional issues and once again, he created the most beautiful outfit.
posted: 2:44 am on October 6thAm I the only one who thinks we don't really get a good look at these designs? First off, a big square with the designers name covers a quarter of the screen during the runway. I really think some of the designs do not translate well to the TV. April's design did not come across as spectacular as the judges stated. Maybe black just doesn't show up that well. I would say the same about Gretchen's velvet design from last week. I would really like a closer look!
Re: Project Runway: A Rough Day on the Runway
I agree with the judges this week. Mondo was the clear winner. Funny that April and Gretchen commented when they left the runway that things didn't go the way they thought. Does it ever? Gretchen always thinks she will win. Generally I like her designs, if not her color choices, but this week I did not care for her jacket. I did like Ivy,s look. I do think however that most American women would not like a bow on their backside. It is going to be interesting to see the competition heat up as the group gets smaller. I think Gretchen, Ivy and now, apparently April have more competition then they realize. Christopher, Mondo and the too often maligned Michael C have plenty to offer as they proved this week.

First, I would like to say that I will really miss Casanova. What a sweet heart. I thought his design was OK, definitely not the worst. I was really hoping it would be Ivy. She is so sure that she is better than everyone else. Her attitude put her in the bottom 3. Had she had more confidence in her partner, she may have had a better design. We will never know. As for April, Kristen Bell - who I have never heard of - said that she would wear that design on the red carpet. I thought it was more of a beach wear look. For evening wear, I would have liked it to be opaque opposed to see through. I liked Gretchen's design, but those colors - yuck. For me, my favorite part of the evening was watching Mondo and Michael C working so well together. Actually, I liked Michael C's and Andy's designs the best.

Thanks for a great idea. My button collecting started with a jewelry project, became a hobby, advanced to an obsession, and has finally developed into a disease. At the risk of spreading it to a few creative friends, I will be making some of these card shortly.

I commented before that designers should not listen to Gretchen. It is the kiss of death! (Remember all her advice to Sarah) I don’t know if she is intentionally sabotaging others or if it is subconscious. She is playing to win and with two wins under her belt, she felt confident that she would not be sent home on a team loss. I am so sorry to see AJ go. Why he ever agreed to menswear in those hideous colors, I will never know. I think it should have come down to Gretchen and Ivy with Ivy sent packing only because I haven’t really seen too much from Ivy in the past, even though she is always bragging about how great she is. I like Gretchen’s designs but I am so sick of her “advice” and comments especially throwing Michael C. under the bus. That was really low. On the bright side, I was delighted to see Casanova and Peach recognized for their beautiful designs. Watch out Gretchen (and Ivy) there is more competition than you realize.

I do think that Kristin had a real challenge with the Orchid hat. I kept thinking a green dress would be the best. I was surprised to see black. As for Michael C winning, he listened to Tim and his own instincts and dumped the first dress. Good for him! He sent a beautiful dress down the runway. It bugs me that the other designers trashed his win. I can only hope that this was an editing choice. Nobody likes sour grapes. I think there will be some real surprised this season. I would not count anyone out just yet!

OMG - what happened? I thought McKell's dress was darling! I also liked Ivy's blouse which they totally trashed. I also think it was a dirty trick to have to pass along personal favorite clothing to be chopped up by someone else. I love this show and am a devoted watcher, but to quote Time Gun, "I'm worried".
