Flight attendant, Master's degree in English, Special Education teacher, 10 years in fashion retail, public relations, writing, and marketing. All this before I turned 40 and began working from home while my 6-year old began school. I always had a thing for color and design but never pursued it as a hobby or career.

In the past 6 months, I learned to crochet, knit, sew, decoupage, spin, and--most importantly--recycle and upcycle goods from salvage and thrift stores. I currently have two stores on Etsy--one that sells finished goods and one that sells embellishment supplies (handmade recycled fabric flowers)--but it seems I mainly sell in bulk to retailers and clothing and accessory designers.

Now, don't get me wrong--my skills are quite simple and so are my designs--but things just seem to click. I stick with the simple, and I will never be a hotshot at any one skill (I am often humbled on Ravelry) but rely on amazing yarns, materials, and embellishments to tell the story. I let color carry it all. I also enjoy finding that unloved gem that someone has given away and breathing new life into it.

It is a joy to meet so many folks around the world online and share ideas about the handmade movement!
