Re: Yudu Rocks at CHA
Greetings Fellow Crafters. I am a fine artist who has been getting a great many requests for my artwork on various garments. After researching the many options for several weeks, I determined that screen printing for myself was the only viable and profitable option. I saw the Yudu infomercial and checked out the system thoroughly. I was so excited. I found the system on sale for $199 and was thrilled. I went home immediately and began learning the various steps completely, watched several online tutorials, watched the included dvd and even went to the local screen printing supply store and picked up several supplementary items, i.e. tape, blockout liquid to fix screen imperfections, markers and so on. Then home to start work. I've been a hard-core crafter for more than 35 years and have advanced skills in all manner of application. I followed every step in generating the screen itself and promptly ran into a very frustrating brick wall trying to get the emulsion to adhere to the screen. The included fan doesn't really dry the screen in 20 minutes as advertised. The application of the water to the screen is so touchy (wet, but not too wet) my first two attempts were utter failures. I bought two more emulsions ($18+ dollars)after having to drive miles to get them and tried again. The first was a little better but the emulsion was blistered and unusable. I'm currently trying the fourth one and will update on the results. I didn't expect to have great results right out of the box despite the deceptive advertising, but so far it looks like I've wasted many hours, gallons of gasoline, and about $250.00.
