I create, I write, I learn, I share. I like to try new things, I’m terrible at sports and I’m not very good at following directions. Fortunately I excel at winging it.

As a child I could often be found reading my dad’s c. 1950s World Book encyclopedias. Now I search the internet, same thrill.

I am always in the middle of a project - sewing and crafting various clothing, toys, etc. mostly for my children and various items for household use and decoration. I also like to cook, garden and repurpose.

craft interests: fashion, gifts, home decorating, jewelry making, paper crafts, quilting, restyle, sewing, children

Re: Book Giveaway: Animal Hats

I would love to knit these animal hats for my three kids! But if it wasn't a random drawing I think you should choose bunnyflower, I know my kids would love going into our library and seeing the librarians wearing these!

Re: How to Print Flowers with Flowers

I would think any fine sheer fabric would work. Nylon or polyester or silk. I assume the purpose is to keep bits of plant material from adhering to the paper underneath while allowing the color to seep through evenly? I have done a similar technique using a regular hammer. I've just used a paper towel on top, nothing in between the plant material and the paper; I've not had any problem removing petals from the paper. It would be nice to be able to see what I'm doing better, although once you start pounding away you can see the image through the paper towel as that gets stained as well.

Re: Book Giveaway: Hand Dyeing Yarn and Fleece

I'd love to win a copy of this book. I've recently started spinning and dyeing wool and I am completely hooked!
